Since the winter semester of 2008/2009 the Department of Architecture at TUD has adapted its curriculum to the Bachelor (BSc) and Master (MSc) degree system.

Bachelor of Science Architecture
6 Semester | preliminary vocational degree | enables the student to join the consecutive Master programme of Architecture at TUD or at a different university either in Germany or abroad (providing the individual admission requirements have been met)

Master of Science Architecture
4 Semester | Focus on Building Construction and Urban Design | Replacement for Diploma course | consecutive to Bachelor of Science Architecture
This course is currently undergoing the phase of accreditation and will most likely be available as of wintersemester 2009/10.

End of the Diploma course wintersemester 2008/ 2009
Current Students
All students already enrolled in the diploma course will be allowed to graduate as “Diplom-Ingenieur Architektur” ie. graduate architect.
New Students
The Diploma course can not be enrolled into any more
Studyplace changers
Only Studyplace changers can still be enrolled into the ongoing Diploma course.

The Department of Architecture at TUD is offering commercial-technical education in the subject „Building technologies“ for students doing a teaching degree at college.

After all exams in the course bachelor or master of education have been passed, the student graduates with the title of bachelor of education or master of education respectively.

International Postgraduate Programm

The Interdisciplinary Master Course 'International Cooperation and Urban Development' addresses the rapid urbanization process in countries of the South and looks at possibilities to prevent or alleviate the problems invariably associated with it.
