The sole formal constraint was the use of DIN paper formats A6, A5, A4, A3 and A2. This open framework shifted the focus towards the conceptual development of free image series. Throughout the seminar, students examined and discussed their chosen motifs as well as the visual means essential to developing a cohesive series — and how these two dimensions can be brought into dialogue with one another. The aim was to produce a series of original prints that is coherent, varied and compelling, while functioning as an individual and self-contained contribution to the exhibition.

A selection of the resulting works will be presented by the department on 11 May at 6 pm at Galerie Parkhaus. Visitors are warmly invited to discover the breadth of possibilities in black and white.
