Cities worldwide are undergoing profound transformations driven by climate change, socio-economic restructuring, demographic shifts, and increasing environmental pressures. In this context, urban form and landscape architecture play a crucial role in shaping sustainable and resilient cities. Beyond physical design, they influence land use patterns, ecological performance, social inclusion, and the capacity of urban systems to adapt to uncertainty and long-term change. Integrating architecture, landscape, and urban planning is therefore essential for addressing contemporary challenges such as climate adaptation, resource efficiency, biodiversity loss, and the creation of livable, human-centered environments. This Special Issue responds to the growing need for interdisciplinary research that critically examines how urban form and landscape architecture can contribute to transformative, sustainable, and resilient urban development.

The goal of this Special Issue is to collect papers (original research articles and review papers) that provide insights into the role of urban form and landscape architecture in guiding sustainable and resilient urban transformations. This Special Issue aligns closely with the scope of Land by addressing land use change, urban and peri-urban development, landscape planning and design, and the social, ecological, and spatial dimensions of sustainability. Contributions are encouraged to explore theoretical, methodological, and empirical perspectives across different geographical and planning contexts.

This Special Issue will welcome manuscripts that link the following themes:

• Urban transformation, renewal, and land use change;
• Integration of architecture, urban form, and landscape architecture;
• Flows of circularity and nature-based solutions;
• Sustainability, resilience, and climate adaptation in cities;
• Human-centered, inclusive, and socially just urban environments;
• Cultural heritage, identity, and sense of place in urban landscapes;
• Strategic and long-term planning approaches.
