How to find us

Using public transport:

The TU Lichtwiese campus can be reached by public transport via the tram stop “TU Lichtwiese/Campus” and the railway station of the Odenwaldbahn (VIAS) Darmstadt “TU Lichtwiese Bahnhof”.

From Darmstadt main station
Take tram line 2 in the direction of “TU Lichtwiese/Campus” to the station „Hochschulstadion“. From there it's a 100 meter walk to the department building.
Journey time: approx. 19 minutes.

From Frankfurt main station
From Frankfurt/Main main station there is also a direct connection to Darmstadt TU Lichtwiese station with the Odenwald-Bahn (operator: VIAS). The journey time is approx. 25 minutes. This connection is offered every two hours.
Walking distance from the stop to the department building: approx. 850 metres.

Travelling by car

When exiting the motorway at the Darmstadt motorway junction, take the B26 (Rheinstraße) and follow the signs for “Darmstadt/Stadtmitte” until you reach the City Ring Tunnel.
In the City Ring Tunnel, take the exit on the left onto Hügelstraße and at the end of this road turn half right at the lights onto Nieder-Ramstädter Straße. Follow this road for about 1 km, turn left onto Heinrichstraße and follow the signs to “TU-Lichtwiese”.

Parking spaces

Public and private parking is available at the Lichtwiese Campus. Please refer to the map for the locations. The public parking spaces are subject to a parking fee from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The parking fees are €1 per hour or €2.50 for the whole day.
Please note that there are some restrictions up to the end of 2023 due to the construction of the Lichtwiese tramline and a new building next to the department.

The department building will be renovated during normal business for several years starting in 2019. Temporary changes (e.g. to the location of some subject areas) will be made as part of the building measures. Information on any changes due to the building work will be made available in the building.
