Bio

Lakshya is a Doctoral Research Fellow under Technische Universität Darmstadt within the Urban Health Games Research Group. He is associated with LOEWE research cluster „Infrastructure-Design-Society“ / project-mo.de and is working on his doctoral research within the domains of urban mobility and accessibility. He is a recipient of Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Research Grants for his doctoral research. He completed his Masters of Technology in Infrastructure Systems from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2017, and was a DAAD IIT-Masters Research Sandwich Fellowship Awardee as part of his research was done under Urban Health Games research group, TU Darmstadt in Germany. He has worked in diverse areas of accessibility, audits, urban mobility, slum upgradation, urban health and related fields. During the 2015-2016 session, he represented the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee under the nation-wide flagship campaign for achieving universal accessibility for Persons with Disabilities through the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan). Access Audits of New Delhi Airport, New Delhi Railway Station, North Block and South Block were carried out during the campaign under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. To have worked with COSTFORD (established by Pritzker nominee Laurie Baker), Surbana Jurong and other firms under diverse projects ranging from slum free city planning to master plan options for sustainable community, he continues to search for opportunities where he can grow through an eclectic way of learning.

Associate Researcher

Associate member under project-mo.de, an Infrastructure-Design-Society LOEWE research clustersince 2019. Part of collaborative projects with the City of Frankfurt and Charité, involving traffic calming and urban health scenarios in Frankfurt and Berlin respectively. Findings related to urban mobility were presented to the Traffic and City Planning department of Frankfurt in 2020.

Involvement in planning, site visit inspection, structural and architectural drawing correlation checks, part plans and section drawings, slab marking plans, room data sheets, and setting out plans.

Worked under German architect Fabian Ostner for master planning and residential project designs. Involvement in master plan options for a 25-acre sustainable community project in Hyderabad and residential projects in Pondicherry and Chennai.

Space Syntax Symposium | 2017

  • The paper focuses on identifying a correlation between the visual isovist area with respect to the perceived stress in an open space in Luisenplatz, Germany. Contributions were made through visual graph analysis, and isovist areas utilizing space syntax theory. The symposium was held in Lisbon, Portugal.   • Participated in the online workshop focusing on the rail mobility in the areas of urban infrastructure with future possibilities and solutions through Design Thinking approach by Lufthansa group, in January '21.


Urban Mobility during COVID-19 and 3rd IRF-SATC Webinar

  • Participated in workshop including digital expert group meeting by UN-Habitat focusing on response to COVID-19 and management of urban mobility (May '20); and webinar by International Road Federation focusing on impact of COVID-19 on public transport and different recovery strategies, held in October '20.
