New IREP Student

28.06.2025

We are pleased to welcome Natig Hasanli as part of the International Research Experience Program (IREP) this summer! He is coming from Canada to cooperate with our mapping and spatial analysis researches using Space Syntax, particularly focused on urban mobility and health impacts.

Let's let him introduce himself:

„My name is Natig Hasanli, and I am a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Civil Engineering with a strong passion for creating sustainable and efficient urban environments. I am particularly interested in pursuing further studies in urban and city planning to contribute to the development of smarter, more resilient cities. Over the past few years, I have been involved in a variety of impactful projects that have deepened my understanding of urban systems and infrastructure. One such project was an urban metabolism analysis of the Brussels-Capital Region, where my team examined the city's energy, water, and waste flows to identify inefficiencies and propose sustainable strategies. Additionally, I contributed to the design and structural analysis of a pedestrian bridge, working collaboratively to ensure the structure met safety, serviceability, and economic efficiency standards. Now, I started working on spatial analysis of Berlin Area, which seems an interesting journey for me.“
