Lisa Beißwanger has been a research assistant (postdoc) in the Department of Architecture Theory and Science since February 2020.
After studying art history at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, she worked for several years as a curatorial trainee and research assistant in the field of contemporary art, at the Villa Merkel, galleries of the city of Esslingen am Neckar and at the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt. Afterwards she was a research assistant at the Institute for Art Education at the Justus-Liebig-University Gießen. In addition to extensive teaching activities, she wrote her dissertation “Performance on Display”. In Darmstadt, she is studying West German campus universities of the 1960s and 1970s in the context of systems thinking and systems theory.
Research interests: 20th century art and architecture; time-based art (performance and dance); museum and exhibition history; educational architecture.
