2024/01/15
On November 22, 2023, TU Darmstadt presented the Athena Awards for outstanding teaching as part of the annual Teaching Day. At the Department of Architecture, Marie Lautsch was honored for the seminar 'Blaupause'.

The Athena Prizes recognize the special importance of academic teaching at TU Darmstadt. Each faculty awards an Athena faculty prize, from which the main Athena prize is then selected.
Marie Lautsch, research assistant at the Department of Visual Design, was honored for the innovative teaching concept of the 'Blueprint' seminar. The seminar enabled students to discuss their own topics and interests as part of the conception and creation of a magazine and to implement them creatively.
The students had the opportunity to identify personal and social issues and work on them creatively in an open and experimental atmosphere. Marie Lautsch, an experienced graphic designer, supported the participants in expressing their concerns in various forms. The seminar offered students the chance to make their voices heard and to exchange ideas with others about design options. By creating the magazine “Blaupause”, the seminar had a significant impact on students, lecturers and the Department of Architecture.
Due to its great success, the magazine will be continued by students of the department even after the end of the seminar. The third issue of the magazine will be published at the beginning of the 2024 summer semester. The main topics this time are “Waste” and “Passion”.
