Building bridges
385 Germany scholarships awarded, 25 of them to architecture students.
2024/02/23
In the current funding period 2023/24, a total of 385 students at TU Darmstadt were awarded a Germany Scholarship. The quota set by the federal government of 375 was thus exceeded by ten scholarships. For one year, the students will now receive 300 euros per month each. The ceremonial presentation of the scholarships took place at the end of January in the Otto-Berndt Hall.
Among the scholarship recipients are also 25 students from the department. We congratulate Joela Brincat-Huxhorn, Viktoriia Bulakh, Sara Callies, Max Geilich, Paula Gunkel, Serra Jaiteh, Lars Kaul, Nina Kazancev, Jana Krüger, Monja Kulla, Silas Leowald, Ida Möckl, Maike Oberle, Jan Plomer, Leon Putz, Noah Sananikone, Luca Schmidt, Daniel Stahlberg, Laura Schürer, Hannah Watzke, Kseniya Vdovina, Veronika Rikhter, Franka Wolf, Valentin Wolf, and Pia Wollschläger.
The number of scholarships awarded is thanks to the university's sustainable network of sponsors: a total of 112 sponsors, including companies, foundations, associations, and private individuals, participated. Together, they contribute half of the funding amount; the federal government contributes the same amount.
“I would like to sincerely thank all donors for supporting 385 talented students of our university with the Germany Scholarship. Through this cooperation, networks are created from which our students benefit just as much as the donors. And networks are important: they open up opportunities and new perspectives, they build bridges between science and society, and they are necessary to foster innovation,” says TU President Tanja Brühl.
The Germany Scholarship is a living example of exchange with society and the economy. It represents a win-win situation for all involved: students receive financial and ideational support—they can build relationships for their future careers. The university gains partners from the economy and society. For the scholarship providers, participation in the Germany Scholarship can also serve as a recruitment tool: they get to know young talents already “in the lecture hall.” Many sponsors offer their scholarship recipients ideational support, advice, insights, professional exchange—in short, the opportunity to network.
