Tuesday Talks and Exhibition Opening at Gallery Parkhaus

2024/05/06

After a hiatus of several years, the Department of Visual Arts is resuming its event series “Tuesday Talks”. In the future, faculty members of the department will regularly gather at the table tennis table in Gallery Parkhaus to discuss their professional practices and engage with the audience about their interests. The goal is to illustrate the interactions between architectural practice and teaching and research at the department.

Kicking off the series on Tuesday, May 7th at 7 p.m. is Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge. Since October 2021, she has been a professor of design and spatial planning at the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt. In 2010, she co-founded the office June 14 Meyer-Grohbrügge & Chermayeff in Berlin with Sam Chermayeff, and in 2015, the office Meyer-Grohbrügge. Their collaborative project, the Kurfürstenstraße housing cooperative in Berlin, was among the five finalists for the DAM Prize 2024.

Exhibition Opening “Copy”
Prior to the discussion, at 6 p.m. in the same location, the exhibition “Copy” will open. As part of the module B (design and presentation), students from the Department of Architecture have recreated and reinterpreted works by renowned artists such as Paul Klee, Magritte, and El Lissitzky.
