Sichten 28: Under Construction – A Look Behind the Scenes of Architectural Studies

November 24–28, 2025, Kunstforum TU Darmstadt

2025/09/30

The annual exhibition Sichten of the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt is entering its 28th edition. Under the title “Under Construction – A Look Behind the Scenes of Architectural Studies”, students will showcase their working processes, ideas, and experiments from November 24 to 28, 2025, at the Kunstforum of TU Darmstadt.

The Department of Architecture building at TU Darmstadt is currently undergoing renovation – a fitting symbol for this year’s exhibition. Architectural design is never “finished” from the outset but evolves through an ongoing process of testing, discarding, and refining. Sichten 28 therefore presents not only completed projects but also sketches, models, and intermediate steps that make the path toward the final work tangible.

“Under Construction” also reflects the dynamics of architectural studies themselves: architecture thrives on experimentation, revision, and fresh beginnings – a continuous process of becoming. Always Under Construction.

About Sichten
The annual exhibition Sichten was initiated by students in 1997 and has since presented the best works of the past two semesters each year. Organized annually by changing student teams, its curatorial focus, design, and execution are constantly renewed, reflecting the diversity of ideas and approaches within the department. Over time, Sichten has become a well-established event, recognized in professional circles far beyond the region.

For many years, the exhibition was held at the Centralstation in Darmstadt’s city center. This year, the Department of Architecture is presenting itself for the first time at the Kunstforum TU Darmstadt on the Stadtmitte campus.

The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive program including a party, guided tours, and lectures. A catalog will also be published.
