Griesheimer Düne – A New Development at TU Darmstadt’s August-Euler-Airfield

You will develop urban design concepts that combine new forms of housing and co working with models for sustainable mobility. You will design a new development fwith 500 residential units, on a site that connects small houses and large commercial buildings in the North, the autobahn A 67 in the West, and the retired airfield in the South. We are particularly looking for mobility design concepts that prioritize pedestrian accessibility, make the most out existing public transit and consider visions of a new long distance train stop close by. You will program communal facilities and design open space, which connect to the untapped potential of the airfield in the South: Partly an environmental protection zone and partly TU Darmstadt’s much needed opportunity to develope a new campus.
