Chair of Urban Design and Planning

Our Chair develops innovative approaches in people-centred urban design. Our research delivers first empiric data and evidence-based strategies with the aim to inform the much-needed transformation towards more healthy and inclusive cities.In the UDP design studio, students of architecture and urban planning learn in close interaction with regional stakeholders how to design more social interaction, active mobility and pedestrian accessibility into living environments. The Chair is funded by the German Research Foundation as part of the Heisenberg Program.
