End of IREP Summer 2025 edition

Thank you, Natig Hasanli!

29.08.2025

On July 31st, we concluded our summer partnership with the International Research Experience Program (IREP) for 2025. Natig Hasanli finished his 10-week research period with us with a presentation of his results. He worked on expanding the axial map of the city of Berlin using GIS and conducted analysis using Space Syntax metrics. He also learned the basic concepts of the methodology and made a preliminary comparison with the results of our previous paper „Stress and streets: How the network structure of streets is associated with stress-related brain activation“, focusing on connectivity, local and global integration and normalized angular choice (NACH).

During his research time with us, we encountered some technical problems and could count on the generous help of the Fachgebietes Landmanagement team at the Geodätisches Institut. We would therefore like to express our sincere thanks to Prof. Dr.-Ing. H.-J. Linke and Dipl.-Ing. Christian Hickel. This interdisciplinary exchange certainly enriched Natig's learning experience.

We would also like to thank the IREP team for organizing this opportunity and the FB15 Rechnerpool team for their support. Finally, we wish Natig a fruitful final year in his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto."
