Anna-Maria Meister arbeitet an der Schnittstelle von Architekturgeschichte und -theorie mit architektonischer Praxis und Kritik einerseits, und Technikgeschichte andererseits. Vor ihrer Dissertation an der Princeton University und einem Postdoctoral Fellowship an der TU München erhielt sie einen Master of Science an der Columbia University und ein Diplom von der TU München, und arbeitete als praktizierende Architektin. Sie war Fellow am Max Planck Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte bei Lorraine Daston, und ihre Arbeit wird und wurde unter anderem von der Graham Foundation, dem Berlin Programm der HU und dem DAAD gefördert. Ihre Forschung wurde unter anderem im Harvard Design Magazine, Volume, Uncube, Baumeister, Arch+ und als Buchkapitel in Architecture and the Paradox of Dissidence (Routledge, 2013) veröffentlicht. Das kollaborative Projekt „Radical Pedagogies“, das Meister ko-kuratiert und ko-editiert wurde auf der Lissabon Triennale 2013 und der 14. Architekturbiennale in Venedig ausgestellt, wo es mit einer „Special Mention“ der Jury unter Rem Koolhaas ausgezeichnet wurde; das Buch wird im Frühjahr 2020 herauskommen.
