Bui Quy Son is an architect, artist, and researcher. His work spans from curatorial, editorial and teaching activities to experimental drawing, visual and spatial projects. His themes of research currently include queer methodologies, liberatory public space and trans-normativity in architecture, as well as socio-spatial politics of urban living in Hanoi.

He is a 2022–2023 curator-in-residence at ROM for kunst og arkitektur in Oslo. He has previously taught as an assistant professor at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, as a workshop tutor at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, and has written for the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Bauwelt, and Magasin for Bygningskunst og Kultur. Bui holds a Master of Arts in Architecture from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and a bachelor’s degree from ENSA Paris-Malaquais. He is a co-founder of the transdisciplinary critical spatial practice Exutoire with Paul-Antoine Lucas since 2019.
