Visions around the Kleinmarkthalle

Exhibition and exchange in Frankfurt am Main

2024/02/27

The redevelopment of the Kleinmarkthalle in Frankfurt's city center is imminent. In collaboration with the City of Frankfurt's urban planning office, the Department of Design and Open Space Planning has therefore published an impromptu report to highlight the potential of the adjacent areas around the Kleinmarkthalle.

Seven works were created as part of the impromptu project. These were presented by the students at the exhibition opening in the “Agentur des städtischen Wandels” at the beginning of February and led to a lively exchange among the participants and guests.

The sometimes heated discussions culminated in a joint “conclusion round”. It became clear that there is still a great need for discussion in order to weigh up the different wishes together. The exchange initiated by the exhibition will therefore continue: the impromptu results will not disappear into a drawer, but will make a contribution to the future!

The event was moderated by Johanna Moraweg from the Department of Design and Open Space Planning and Irmgard Huber from the Frankfurt am Main Urban Planning Office.
