Opportunities for Play in Urban Spaces

In co-operation with the youth welfare office of the city of Neuss, we are working on innovative concepts for exercise and play in the city. There are currently 221 playgrounds in the city of Neuss, which has a population of 155,000. In the funded research cooperation, we are analysing the quality of existing playgrounds and their roles in the neighbourhood, evaluating current good examples and developments in play space design and jointly developing a strategy on how attractive sports and play opportunities for children and young people can be addressed in the future.
