Liveable Cities – Challenges and Opportunities

Brooklyn Bridge Park
Brooklyn Bridge Park

Climate change, war and increasing social inequity result in multiple challenges for urban development. To talk about “quality of life“ may seem strange in this respect, and yet, it may also bear the opportunity to discuss positive and shared goals.

The main issue is to highlight the consequences of urban growth from different angles. It will be discussed how the multiple crisis and cities growth affects the quality of life for the inhabitants and in what manners respond the disciplines architecture, urban design, urban planning and landscape architecture to it.

This course addresses the growth of cities and the quality of life and is structured as team lecture. Involved are professors and lecturers within the Department E.
