Entwurf Konversion Campus Hessischer Rundfunk zu einem Stadtquartier

A highly symbolic location in the centre of Frankfurt am Main: the Hessischer Rundfunk site is about to undergo a fundamental transformation. The facilities currently located there will be condensed and partially relocated to create space for a new urban neighbourhood. Living, working, studying and leisure are the main utilisation modules for the design. The existing buildings are to be integrated into the concept as far as reasonably possible. In particular, the HR broadcasting hall building, which was originally planned as the seat of the Bundestag as part of Frankfurt's capital city ambitions at the end of the 1940s, is of central importance to the design.

The current challenges with regard to ecological, climatic and social issues must be given particular consideration in the work.

This design studio is supervised every Thursday by the three urban design units.
