Joint workshop in Belgrade, Serbia, 16-21.05.2022
Students of the Faculty of Architecture from TU Darmstadt attended a joint workshop in Belgrade, Serbia, organised in colaboration with TU Berlin, Michigan State University, and NGO “Ministarstvo Prostora”. The workshop is an integral part of an urban design studio „Transforming Belgrade Waterfront“ and focuses on the ongoing waterfront redevelopment project and the many contestations and negotiations emerging from this investor urbanism initiative.

Dr. Anshika Suri gave a guest lecture in the course on Gender and Diversity: Science and Care at KU Leuven. Her lecture focused on intersectional relationship between gender, urban infrastructure and violence and emphasized incorporation of gender theory in architecture and urban planning discipline.

Towards more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable urban spaces?
Disruptions caused by COVID-19 pandemic in everyday lives has led praxis and academia to seek an in-depth understanding of the pivotal role architecture and built environment play in physical and mental wellbeing. Dr. Anshika Suri recently presented some socio-spatial measures for responsive and healthy built spaces for the most vulnerable social groups at the conferences that emphasized the importance of healthy and inclusive living spaces.

Performance on Display – Zur Geschichte lebendiger Kunst im Museum
Lisa Beißwanger untersucht in ihrem im Dezember 2021 erschienenen Buch, wann wie und warum die Kunst im Museum ‚lebendig‘ wurde. Im Zentrum der Untersuchung stehen Performanceausstellungen und -events in US-amerikanischen Museen der 1970er-Jahre. Das Buch beleuchtet die komplexen Verflechtungen von Künstler*innen, Institutionen, Markt und Kulturpolitik, die zu einer allgemeinen ‚Eventisierung‘ des Museums führten.
